3 Principles I Live by as a “Go-Getter” That Can Help You Become One Too

“How are you so driven?”

“Wow, you’re such a go-getter.”

“You’re super ambitious.”

All phrases I’ve heard throughout my entire life……so how did I get here?

Here are the top three principles I live by that make me more motivated and achieve my wildest dreams by the day:

1️⃣ Live and work today as if tomorrow doesn’t exist

Many times, people are unmotivated because they believe that “tomorrow” will bring about motivation, reason, or opportunity that today hasn’t.

If you want to train yourself to be a highly motivated person, convince yourself every day that tomorrow isn’t coming.

When you deeply internalize that you have it today, you start to effectively and unwaveringly take advantage of the time you do have — right now.

2️⃣ Dream 1% bigger

Screw being 1% better.

Try dreaming 1% bigger.

For every dream I have, I turn the dial up and dream even bigger.

Dreaming big and actually believing in your ability to make those dreams a reality is what makes you able to achieve them (The Pygmalion Effect).

Push the limits on yourself and your dreams. Take your visions one step further and dream 1% bigger.

When you dream so big, you have no choice but to be a ‘go-getter’ and make those dreams a reality because they’ll be so mouth-watering to you that you won’t be able to survive another day, not making them come true.

3️⃣ Give yourself grace

You will get burnt out and unmotivated if you don’t give yourself grace.

As hard as I am on myself, as much as I push and challenge myself, I’ve realized that if I go so hard for too long, I’ll eventually want to give up purely due to exhaustion.

So give yourself grace.

When things aren’t going as planned, if you’ve missed the mark, if you’ve had a bad day. Going hard on yourself will only perpetuate the issue and further motivate you to be better.

Be kind to yourself. Give yourself space and time. Know when to push and know when to pull back.

This is exactly how I maintain my full force momentum for so long.
