We overcomplicate many things in life.

But one thing we should undercomplicate?

Self-improvement.

It’s not that hard to become a better version of yourself.

It’s not that hard to prepare your Future Self for success.

It’s not that hard to do better today.

Consider these 51 things you can do to improve yourself today to make a difference tomorrow. The more you do, at a higher frequency, the more improvement you’ll see.

#1 Get up early tomorrow

Just once. Get up one hour before you normally do.

#2 Don’t Spend A Single Dollar Today

There’s no need to be constantly spending money. You can go without Starbucks, DoorDash, and Amazon for one day.

#3 Open A RothIRA

A type of after-tax retirement account. You can open one by Googling “How to open a Roth IRA.” Takes less than 20 minutes. Then your money can start making money.

#4 Take a Walk Outside

Sunlight is your best friend (see tip #46)

#5 Hug Someone

Everyone could use a hug.

#6 Update Your Resume

Yeah…when’s the last time you’ve done that? And if you have nothing to add…then consider learning a new skill.

#7 Eat three pieces of real, fresh fruit

There are so many different types of fruits. When was the last time you had a passionfruit?

#8 Drink more water

If you’re not getting up to pee every 30 minutes, something ain’t right.

Don’t forget about your imagination. Read a children's book to rediscover it.

One way we stay in our comfort zones is by going to the same restaurant and ordering the same food because it’s easy. Step out of your comfort zone in these little ways and you’ll be more likely to step out of your comfort zone in big ways in the future.

#17 Tell Someone You Love Them

There is scarcely anything else in the world to do but to love one another.

Type away in the notes app of your phone or do it the old-fashioned way in a notebook. Free up space in your mind by getting your thoughts out of your head and onto paper.

When was the last time you stretched your legs? Your back? How about your shoulders and arms? Your body could use it good stretch. It does wonders.

#20 Meditate

Slow the thoughts and relax the body. It can be for two minutes, ten minutes, or an hour. It doesn’t matter, just try.

Just spend 15 minutes less on your phone. That’s an easy feat, especially when you replace it with 15 minutes of something you want to do even more than just sit on your phone.

Spend five minutes per day learning a new language. It gives you a greater appreciation for words, grammar, tone, language, and more.

A bath is super relaxing. And it gives you time to decompress and just think. Try it.

Earn interest on money that just sits, if you don’t want to invest it.

What goes around, comes around. Be extra generous in your giving.

Better to be prepared and not need it than to be unprepared and need it.

You have to do it eventually, so you might as well do it now. If you do, your Future Self will no longer have to stress about it.
