The limits you have may not be self-imposed…but you’re still believing them, and this is holding you back.
It’s funny when you actually think about the limits you believe you have
Because even if you reflect and find that the limits you believe you have, have been imposed by someone else, ultimately, you’re the one who continues to believe them and move through life as if they’re reality
➡️ But, if you deeply question your limitations, you’ll find they literally have no standing in reality, and then you can move freely to do what it is you truly want
So, how do you productively question your limitations and move forward in a positive direction?
✅ First, acknowledge that your limitations come from three main sources: yourself, your inner circle, or society.
✅ Next, accept that no matter the source of your limitations, you’re the one who sustains those limitations and continues to live life as though they’re reality.
✅ Finally, determine for yourself if you want to keep living your life through the lens that those limitations exist or if you want to change your perspective and outgrow those limitations.
You may have limitations that you don’t even realize exist because you’ve been accepting them as truth for so long.
Or you may have limitations you choose to ignore because it’s easier to live with and blame those limitations than it is to take responsibility and make the necessary change.
➡️The biggest limiting belief that I had for the longest time was that I had to work a 9–5 job to be successful.
This limiting belief was rooted in many things, from societal standards to both my parents' growing their success from 9–5s.
But the biggest thing that kept that belief in lockdown was my lack of self-confidence to succeed in anything beyond a 9–5.
Even though deep down I knew a 9–5 wasn’t for me, I accepted it as my fate and got one right out of college.
Let’s just say that once I recognized that limiting belief and gained confidence in myself, I quit the job and started writing my first book.
All this to say, recognizing the limiting beliefs you have can lead you to freedom, but only if you take responsibility for those beliefs and make the necessary changes to progress your life in a positive direction.
