You want more hours in a day, but you don’t need them.
What you need is to use the ones you already have, better.
Let’s be honest, if I were able to magically make our days 30 hours long instead of 24 hours, you’d spend those six extra hours exactly how you spend the 24 you already have.
It’s not about having more time to do things; it’s about better managing the time you already have.
Focus and diligence are key. If you can’t focus on tasks or be diligent with the time you have, you’re screwed.
This also means making sacrifices *cue dramatic gasp*.
You can’t have everything. You can’t do everything.
Get rid of the things that take up unnecessary time.
Stop worrying. Ditch the relationships that are dragging you down.
Give yourself more time by freeing yourself from things that don’t deserve your time.
Your time is too precious. Start acting like it.
Part of the problem is that you think you have infinite time. You don’t.
You’re taking your time for granted, and it’s severely hurting you.
You’re not guaranteed a tomorrow. You’re not even guaranteed the next hour. So stop wasting hours and days of your life on worthless things.
Being a good steward of your time is understanding, truly and deeply, exactly how you want to be spending your time.
Sure, it would be nice to work out, spend an hour reading before bed, and call an old friend every day. But do you really want to do those things? Be honest with yourself.
Thinking you could accomplish more with more time is just an excuse you tell yourself to not do what needs to be done.
If you really wanted to write that book, if you really wanted to start that non-profit, if you really wanted to renovate your kitchen, you would find the time.
It’s as simple as that, stop complicating things.
Do you really think your time is valuable?
“Of course I do, Jade! It’s the most valuable resource I have!”
Does someone who values their time spend a weekend binge-watching Netflix? Does someone who values their time have a screen time of 7+ hours? Does someone who values their time let responsibilities fall by the wayside?
Most people think they need more time, but they really don’t.
What they need instead is to value the time they already have.
What they need instead is to be focused.
Eliminate the distractions. Prioritize the tasks. Stop making excuses.
